2025 E Ride Pro SR First Ride – A Lightweight Electric Dirt Bike Beast

2025 E Ride Pro SR First Ride

The 2025 E Ride Pro SR is here, and it’s making waves as one of the fastest lightweight electric dirt bikes available today. With a bold claim of 70 mph top speed and a host of upgrades, it’s time to see if the hype holds up. We took the SR out for a test on a rare 50 degree winter day in Colorado to give you a first impression.

Key Features and Build Details

Right off the bat, the 2025 E Ride Pro SR stands out with notable improvements across the board:

  • Foot Pegs: Extra-large with aggressive pins, almost oversized for secure footing.
  • Drivetrain: A 58-tooth sprocket paired with a 428 chain promises exceptional torque.
  • Suspension: FastAce ALX 32 RC forks with 60lb springs, compression/rebound adjustments, and SKF fork seals. The rear shock matches with similar compression and rebound adjustment.
  • Wheels & Tires: Knobby tires (80/119 front and 190/80 rear) on straight-laced wheels for durability. However, the narrow front hub resembles the pre-production Ala Sigma we previously tested.
  • Brakes: Adjustable levers, 4-piston calipers, DOT fluid, and thick 220mm x 3mm rotors.
  • Frame: A stiffer frame, subframe, and swingarm, paired with a new plastic skid plate for added protection.
  • Battery & Power: A 72V 50Ah battery delivers 3.6 kWh, powering 25 kW of peak power (10kW nominal). Fully tunable via a Bluetooth app, the bike offers Eco, Sport, and Race modes, along with reverse and regen options, with a regen thumb lever.

On the scale, our bike weighed in at a manageable 181 pounds, striking a balance between heft and agility. But, is it light enough to be considered a “lightweight electric dirt bike”?

Performance Highlights

Top Speed Test

In Race mode, the 2025 E Ride Pro SR clocked a solid 65 mph during our initial runs. Later, we discovered the speed limiter in Race Mode was set to 90%, meaning the bike could achieve its claimed 70 mph when fully unlocked.

Track Ride

Testing the bike on a soft sand track highlighted its immense power and responsiveness. The knobby tires excelled in providing traction in tough conditions, and the suspension handled the whoops and corners with ease. However, the front end’s low and narrow build felt unbalanced compared to the beefed-up rear, a common critique across lightweight electric bikes.

Battery Range

This torture test wasn’t kind to the battery, but the results were promising. Riding aggressively in Race mode on deep sand, the SR managed 16 miles with 16% battery remaining. For comparison, the Stark VARG achieved 18 miles under similar conditions. We estimate 30-40% better range in less extreme environments.

The Front-End Dilemma

One recurring critique is the front-end design. While the taller handlebars improve ergonomics, the forks remain too short and lack the burliness needed for stability in challenging terrain. A taller fork or drop crown could provide the balance this bike deserves.

What Do We Think of the New E Ride Pro?

The 2025 E Ride Pro SR is a powerhouse in the lightweight (kind of) electric dirt bike category. While it has room for improvement in front-end geometry, its power, range, and upgraded components make it a standout in this class of bikes. It’s clear that E Ride has listened to rider feedback and made significant strides, but as always, there’s room to tweak and perfect.

Stay tuned as we continue testing the 2025 E Ride Pro SR in different conditions. What do you want to know about this bike? Let us know in the YouTube comments, and we’ll cover it in future updates.
