The New Altis Sigma & Sigma MX Electric Dirt Bikes

Altis Sigma Electric Dirt Bike

The electric dirt bike world is buzzing with innovation, and keeping up with the latest models can feel like a challenge. Just weeks ago, we saw the release of the Talaria Sting MX5 Pro, a significant shake-up in the industry that seemed to outpace the reigning lightweight champion, the E Ride Pro SS. Now, we have something new on the horizon with the launch of the Altis Sigma series. Altis, a new brand on the scene, has introduced two exciting models – the Altis Sigma and Sigma MX – which have already garnered attention for their thoughtful design choices, including traditional plastics, a full-size seat, higher-than-average voltage for lightweight eMotos, and a unique hairpin motor design.

Altis Sigma MX: Off-Road Model

Designed with off-roaders in mind, the Altis Sigma MX takes the familiar lightweight eMoto format and dresses it up with features tailored for off-road. What really sets this bike apart is its 16″ rear wheel setup. This opens up a world of tire options, giving riders more flexibility in choosing an aggressive setup for the dirt.

The Sigma MX is powered by a 97V35Ah Samsung battery, which helps to deliver a massive 20kw peak from an automotive-style hairpin motor and it’s 44T sprocket. This design features rectangular wires that create a more efficient winding pattern, allowing for better heat dissipation and increased power density. Hairpin motors are also used in high-performance electric vehicles like the Tesla Model 3, Porsche Taycan, and BMW i4, showcasing their reliability and performance capabilities in demanding applications. The Sigma MX pumps out a beastly 601n.m of torque, which is quite impressive for a bike of this size. Although the Sigma MX weighs 185 pounds, which may seem heavy for the lightweight category, its power output is significantly higher than most bikes with a comparable short wheelbase.

In the suspension department, the fork is an air fork design – albeit, the brand name of the suspension is unverified.

Altis is claiming a 2-hour charge time (from 20% to 80%), which seems to be on par with what we see in this category of bike.

The Altis Sigma MX features a 3.5” TFT display equipped with NFC that adds modern convenience to your ride, while 5 levels of regenerative braking give you control over your engine braking feel as well as options for how you recover energy.

The bike also features oversized rotors and heavy-duty brakes.

Altis Sigma: Traditional, with a Twist

For those who prefer a more standard eMoto wheel size, the Altis Sigma delivers all the performance you’d expect but with 19” front and rear wheels. It’s perfect for riders who want that classic lightweight eMoto feel, street riders, or those who don’t want to compromise with the heavier weight of the 16” rear wheel and tire combo. Like the MX, the Sigma features the same 97V35Ah Samsung battery and 20kw peak hairpin motor, but with a slight difference in torque—533n.m with its 39T sprocket.

Despite the difference in wheel size and torque, the Sigma shares the same highlights as its MX sibling: adjustable air fork, sleek 3.5” TFT display with NFC, regenerative braking, and heavy-duty disc brakes.
