Rieju eMR Electric Enduro Quick Look

Rieju eMR Electric Dirt Bike

The New Rieju eMR Electric Dirt Bike caught us by surprise at EICMA this year, and although we did a First Look at the new electric dirt bike, we wanted some more questions answered, so we did a Q&A with the folks at Rieju to get some more details on their newest electric dirt bike.

Rieju eMR Chassis

The bike is built on Rieju’s popular MR Racing chassis. It utilizes the same steel frame and KYB suspension that the gas bike utilizes, with the bike weighing in at 233 pounds. Viewers asked what the fuel tank was holding, which I lovingly replied is likely Sangria, giving a wink at the brands Spanish headquarters, but all jokes aside, keep in mind this is a prototype on the chassis of a former gas bike.

Rieju eMR Power Specifcations

Rieju is utilizing a motor they say is developed in-house and they are claiming that the eMR will have an impressive peak power output of 60kW, providing approximately 80Hp and 130Nm of torque.

Rieju eMR Battery Range and Specifications

The prototype battery is a 77.7 volt, 48 Ah battery totaling 3.73kWh of capacity, but Rieju claims that the production bike will have a higher voltage and a capacity over 4kWh.

The battery will be easily swappable by removing 3 bolts.

Charging the battery will be easy and will have the option to utilize 120v or 240v power depending on what you have access to. The current charger is 1.5kW but there will be more powerful chargers available and charge times will take 2-3 hours.

Range on the production model is estimated to offer up to 2 hours of enduro riding for an average rider. The bike will feature multiple ride modes. Everyone wanted to know if this bike will have a clutch and we are sorry to report that it is confirmed that it will not have a clutch, although Rieju claims that it is not needed.
